World Fight News: October 2017

Since our last update, there have been some interesting rumblings in the fighting games world. Rather than post two seperate articles, here's a combined run-down of what's been going on.

a) You may have heard a while back that a certain online merchant listed a tentative launch date for Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition, before it had even been announced as a reality? Well, a recent post on Capcom Unity ( has officially revealed that SFV:AE does exist, and it's coming to PlayStation 4 and PC on January 16th, 2018. There will be both a digital upgrade and a physical copy of the game, featuring all 28 characters from Seasons 1 and 2 (including the last DLC fighter who hasn't been revealed yet); this hasn't been confirmed, but it's likely that the other DLC content (like extra stages), will be included on the disc. On top of that, the Arcade Edition will feature...

Arcade Mode! Capcom have been listening to what the fans have been saying, and are including a fully fledged single-player mode; as the 30th anniversary of Street Fighter is upon us, it will feature various courses with themes relating to various games in the franchise.

New V-Trigger Skills! Every character will now have two V-Trigger abilities, which players can choose from before the match begins, (much like the Super Arts in Street Fighter III). If the opponent is getting wise to you using a particular V-Trigger (for instance, Ryu's parrying), you can change it up and remain on the offensive!

A Redesigned GUI: It's a minor point, but the user interface is going to be overhauled, and getting a new look; Capcom have gone for a white tone scheme this time around.

Apparently, there is more to be revealed about Arcade Edition, so please keep it locked to BattleBlog for more information, as we get it.

b) December sees the Steam release of the latest entry in the Arcana Heart franchise, Arcana Heart 3 Love Max: Six Stars!!!!!!. As well as balance changes to your favourite girls, there will be at least two new characters added to the roster - maybe more, if the Kickstarter drive is as successful as Team Arcana hope it will be. At the moment, you can definitely expect 'Shark Girl' to make an appearance (name subject to change), but there is talk of the characters 'Dark Heart' and 'Omega' to be added, if the crowd-funding drive goes to plan. It's not too late to join the project; all the information about the game, and how to pledge funds, can be found at - there are some sweet bonuses to be had, if you've got the money. Would you believe that two people have pledged $10,000 each? Now that is dedication!

Like with Arcade Edition, we'll bring you more information about Six Stars as we get it, so please stick around for more on both of these fabulous games!
